Custom Transplantation of „Ancient” Trees
Transplanting an ancient tree, often weighing more than 100 tons with a root ball, requires unique technology and careful preparation.
Expertise and patience are essential when dealing with these special, one-of-a-kind trees. After the condition assessment, the preparatory work begins, which can sometimes take 12-24 months, during which we prepare the ancient tree for relocation.
During the planting process, hundreds of cubic meters of soil are moved, while in the case of mechanical transplantation, only 6.5 cubic meters of soil are relocated, as the root ball of such a giant tree can be up to 160 cubic meters.
After months of preparation, we carefully package the root system and then use a crane to lift it onto a special transport vehicle, often located several hundred meters away. We enrich the prepared site with fresh, nutrient-rich soil and symbiotic mycorrhizal fungi. The crane then lifts its heavy cargo into this ideal environment. Following soil work, ample irrigation, and stabilization, post-care work begins, lasting 24-36 months, without which successful transplantation is impossible. As a result of careful work, the survival rate is nearly 100%, as evidenced by the healthy, green giants in Hungary.
